Dog Licenses
All dogs in the Town Grand Valley must be licensed and wear a current dog tag in accordance with our Canine Control Bylaw.
Visit grandvalley.docupet.com to license your pet now and browse hundreds of license tag styles.
The Town of Grand Valley has partnered with DocuPet to provide an enhanced pet licensing experience for Grand Valley residents. Dog licenses can now be purchased and renewed online at grandvalley.docupet.com. This new, easy-to-use online licensing service provides a quick and easy process to license your pet in Grand Valley.
Previously, dog licenses expired annually on December 31, but through the new partnership with DocuPet licenses are now valid for 365 days after purchase. This means that no matter what time of year residents purchase a dog’s license, it will be valid for 365 days. Please note that all 2021 licenses will now expire on March 31, 2022.
The new licensing program allows residents to select a standard license tag at no additional charge or upgrade to one of DocuPet’s colourful designer tag styles for $15. 20% of all designer tag sales are donated to Orangeville SPCA through DocuPet’s Safe&Happy Fund.
Each DocuPet tag, standard or designer, doubles as a pet’s official license in Grand Valley and comes equipped with the HomeSafe™ 24/7 lost pet service, which relies on a dedicated full time dispatch staff and linked pet profiles to help get lost pets home quickly.
Licensing your dog not only displays responsible pet ownership but it also helps fund local animal welfare initiatives in your community. In addition to your pet’s official Grand Valley pet license, here are some benefits of your DocuPet online profile:

Lottery Licenses
All lotteries, raffles, 50/50 draws, etc., require a license issued by either the municipality or the Province of Ontario. The Town of Grand Valley can only issue licenses for lotteries run by charitable or non-profit organizations as defined by the Alcohol & Gaming Commission of Ontario. Please call the Town of Grand Valley Municipal Office at 519-928-5652 to confirm license eligibility and the availability of a Licensing Officer.
Marriage Licenses
Marriage licenses can be issued by the Town of Grand Valley, within 3 months of the proposed date of marriage. To apply for a license, both parties must complete the application form and pay the associated fee. We encourage both applicants book an appointment and to attend together; however, if only one person can attend, they will need the proper documents for the absent person. Two pieces of government issued identification will be required.
If previously married, an original or court certified copy of the decree absolute or an original Certificate of Divorce is required. Divorce judgements and orders are not acceptable, nor are photocopies.
To set up an appointment for requesting a marriage license, please call the Municipal Office at 519-928-5652.
