Notice of Intention to Pass a By-Law to Adopt the 2025 Budget
TAKE NOTICE that Council of the Corporation of the Town of Grand Valley intends to pass a by-law to adopt the 2025 budget at its meeting to take place on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Town Hall - Council Chambers, 5 Main Street North, Grand Valley.
Reduced Load Restrictions are in effect as of Monday, March 10, 2025
The reduced load restriction period typically occurs between March 1 and May 15th dependent on weather and road conditions.
Further notice will be posted once restrictions are lifted.
The Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) has issued a Flood Warning message for the Town of Grand Valley and the hamlet of Waldemar. Snow melt and rainfall will combine to create more runoff than the river channel can contain throughout the weekend. Resident is those areas should be prepared to take actions to ensure the safety of their families and property. The budget is being adopted in accordance with section 290 of the Municipal Act, 2001 and notice is being provided in accordance with By-Law No. 2007-56. If the matter is postponed or considered at a subsequent council meeting, no additional notice will be provided other than the information on the subsequent council agenda.

On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, the Town of Grand Valley, in partnership with Local Authority Services (LAS) and Elovate, will start its two-year Automated Speed Enforcement pilot program in the community safety zone along Main Street in front of the elementary school.
The camera system, the first to be deployed in Dufferin County, will capture vehicle speed data in real time, and then issue speeding tickets to the vehicle owner if speeds exceed the speed limit of 40km/h in our community safety zone.
