Call Before You Dig

If you are planning to dig, build or excavate, it is important you obtain the necessary permits and locate all of your utility lines before you start any work. 

Effective March 28, 2025, homeowners must submit all locate requests through Ontario One Calls web portal. Ontario One Call will no longer be accept locate requests by phone, except for Emergency, Priority 0, or Sewer Lateral cases.

Their Support Services team will continue to remain available by phone @1-800-400-2255 for guidance and troubleshooting. 

Ontario One Resource are available to guide homeowners through the locate request process.

Important Reminders:

  • Submitting a locate request is the law: Noncompliance may result in legal consequences.
  • It’s recommended that the person performing the excavation submit the locate request for accuracy and efficiency. If a contractor is doing the work on a homeowner’s property, the contractor should request the locate.
  • Homeowners requesting a locate for a contractor are encouraged to add the Contractor's name and contact information on the locate request form or complete a sharing locates form to ensure both parties have access to the information.
