Energy-efficient, light-emitting diode (LED) streetlights will soon be reducing streetlight electricity consumption by 66% in the Town of Grand Valley. This drop in energy use will cut the cost of powering streetlights by 50% after the first year with LEDs. The new fixtures will also reduce maintenance costs by 80% because LEDs last four times longer than the Town’s existing streetlights. Installation began today and is expected to be complete by Wednesday. For more information, read the full notice here.
