
The Grand Valley Public Library offers a variety of services to meet the needs of our diverse and growing community.
Borrowing and Collections: The Grand Valley Public Library has a great collection of material to borrow. Visit our Collection page for a list of materials available. In addition to our physical collection we also offer online resources, which include books, music, magazines, and more.
To borrow any material from the library, a person must obtain a library card. Please visit the front desk and a staff member will assist you. Proof of ID with address must be provided at this time.
Programs: The Grand Valley Public Library offers a variety of programs throughout the year. For more detailed information, visit the Library Programs and Events page.
Reader's Advisory: Whether you're not sure what to read next, haven't read anything in years and aren't sure where to start, or need a book for a school project, the library can help. Check out our online catalogue to inspire your next read, or better yet, stop and ask one of our friendly staff to recommend something to you. We love talking about books of all kinds! Online Resources (Reading References) are also available to help you pick that next book.
Interlibrary Loan: Interlibrary loan is a service that provides materials from another library if the library does not have what you are looking for in the collection. Please keep in mind that it cannot be newly published material and many libraries do not lend audio or DVD materials.
Computers/Internet Service and WiFi: There is no charge to accessing the library's internet. There are 9 computers with high speed internet and an open source word processing program with printing capabilities. Cost for printing is .25 per page in black and white only. 8 Hotspots are available for loan for mobile internet.
Microfilm/fiche reader: printing or emailing available
Photocoping: Cost for copy is .25 per page in black and white. $1.00 for colour copying.
Faxing: $1.00 per page for faxing within Canada
Scanning to email: free
Technology Help: staff are always available to help with your electronic devices.
Meeting Space: The McGinnis Room's capacity is 34 people. This room is available to rent for small meetings or classes. Free to non-profit organizations. Library programs take priority for bookings.
Garbage Tags: County of Dufferin Garbage Bag Tage are available for purchase.
