Grand Valley Public Library offers a selection of educational and informative links to various online resources.

Online resources link you to articles and information from Canadian and international newspapers, magazines, and encyclopedias.. They cover a wide range of topics like genealogy, the environment, politics, economics, social issues, consumer reports, health, the sciences, the fine arts as well as "how to" help for your home and car repair. Through our online resources you can:

  • Read ebooks (electronic books) for children, for teens and for adults
  • Search the Library's subscriptions to newspapers, encyclopedias and periodical articles
  • Online databases are available to those with a Grand Valley Public Library card. Click on the link to each database and enter membership number (Patron ID) when prompted to do so
  • Reference staff can assist you in locating other electronic resources.

New to ebooks?

The Grand Valley Public Library provides access to a wealth of ebooks and audio books through the Ontario Library Service Download Centre (OVERDRIVE). To get started, check out the Overdrive help page which provides information on downloading Adobe Digital Collections or Overdrive's Media Console.
Then, download "Libby" the new Overdrive app and start reading! A valid Library card is required to use OverDrive.
