The Town of Grand Valley is a safe and caring environment for animals and people alike. Whether you are purchasing a dog license, reporting a wildlife concern or raising livestock and poultry, the Town is here to support you. In this section, you can learn about:

Animal Control

The Town of Grand Valley has partnered with AgapiK9 Control for animal control services. To report a dog running at large or a dog bite incident, please call AgapiK9 Control at 1-519-942-1508.

For Information about rabies in wildlife, how it's controlled and what to do if you think an animal has rabies, please call the Ministry of Natural Resources' rabies hotline at 1-888-574-6656.

Dog Licensing

The Town of Grand Valley Dog Control By-law requires every dog owner to register his or her dog and obtain a license. To learn more about dog licencing, please visit our Certificates, Licenses and Permits page.

Wildlife

The Town of Grand Valley is home to a large variety of wildlife including mammals, fish, birds and reptiles. Visit the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry website for more information.

The Ontario Wildlife Damage Compensation Program provides financial assistance to producers whose livestock, poultry and honey bees have been damaged by wildlife. For more information on the Ontario Wildlife Damage Compensation Program visit the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs website. If your livestock has been injured or killed by predators, you can call the Municipal Livestock Evaluator at 519-215-3455.

There are a number of provincial guidelines to be mindful of when raising livestock and poultry in Ontario. Visit the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs website for more information.
