$80,000 OTF Grant to build a Multi-purpose Outdoor Recreation Facility for the Grand Valley Community
GRAND VALLEY – The Town of Grand Valley is thrilled to announce the spring 2024 construction of a multi-purpose outdoor recreation facility in the village of Grand Valley, Ontario. With the help of an $80,000 Capital Grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF), the project will provide a space for people of all ages to play, skate and exercise, while serving as a new community gathering hub.
The recreation opportunities that will be created with OTF grant funding will include a Basketball/Pickleball/Ball Hockey court in summer that also serves as an outdoor skating rink in winter. The Town does not currently offer any such outdoor facilities, and we hope that it will be used by all age groups for many years to come.
The space will be built on Town-owned land, on the Community Centre grounds next to the existing skateboard park. By installing the facility near the Community Centre, it will enhance the recreation opportunities available in a central location in the village.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be scheduled at a later date.
The Ontario Trillium Foundation is an agency of the Government of Ontario, and one of Canada’s leading granting foundations.
